Upon birth, each of us has moles but mostly is not visible and as soon as we grow older, it darkens and become perceptible.Moles are both harmful and harmless. The harmless types are small, has single color and do not have diverse perimeter around them. They especially grow on neck, arms, face and legs. Moles normal lifespan reaches up to fifty years.
Red moles are not dangerous unless it is not mixed up with other colors and if it will not grow as time goes by. But, if there is a round border or suspicious looking oval then it might be worth for a big discussion. That red mole could be cancerous. That is why most parents choose to have these moles removed as early as the childhood stage of their children.
Regular and longer display of moles to the sun could increase its size and may lead to the development of melanoma. Melanoma is said to be the very hazardous form of skin cancer. Exposing the melanocytes, cells of the skin which produces melanin, to excessive ultraviolet light may cause it to grow abnormally and eventually develop into melanomas.
It is very vital for those who have red moles to be very observant about its appearance. As one grows older and recipient of red moles as well, the risk of getting melanoma is very high. That is why it is recommended for adults not to stay under the scorching heat of the sun for a longer period of time.
