Breast cancer is another deadly type of cancer. One of its symptoms is a lump or thickening either in the breast or in the armpit. |
Hormonal changes may also cause this lump however, if a thickening or a lump continue, it is now alarming. If the armpit is now swelling, then it is an indication of the body that it is fighting for invasion. A lump found in the breast is also an indication of a cyst or a problem in the lobes or duct. The sudden change of mature breast in shape or size, especially if only one breast is undergoing a change, is a signal that the lobes within the breast are swelling. If this condition occurs, it is best to consult a doctor.
Fluid, not milk, pouring out from the nipple is another sign. People between the ages of 41 – 58 undergo a hormonal change which includes a small and non-bloody outflow from the nipples of the two breasts. But if fluid only comes out from one nipple, bloody and you think a new discharge, ask your doctor immediately for a professional opinion.
Another symptom is the change of shape and size of the nipple. Acceleration of body weight also affects the size and shape of the breast as well as the nipples. However, if the nipple pulls in and does not return to its normal shape easily, one must see a medical professional for a thorough manual exam.
The change of texture, color or shape of the areola is also another sign. If puckers, dimples or rash on the skin that surrounds the nipple is not responding to treatment creams, have it checked by a doctor. Paget’s disease which is a type of breast cancer starts from rashes.
