Different Kinds Of Heart Diseases

Hearing the word heart disease, most people think of only one condition.  However, heart disease is indeed a very broad term which depicts different heart conditions.

To simplify the types of heart disease, they were separated into delinquents in the following areas: heart chambers, heart muscle, heart valves, coronary arteries and coronary veins, electrical system and heart lining.

The types of heart disease that affects the heart chambers are congestive heart failure which is also known as heart failure and includes diastolic dysfunction and systolic dysfunction, and cor pulmonale also known as pulmonary heart disease.

Those that affect the heart muscles resulted in enlarged heart.  These are cardiomyopathy and myocarditis.  Cardiomyopathy is classified as dilated, hypertrophic and restrictive.
The type that affects the valve are mitral stenosis, mitral valve regurgitation, mitral valve prolapse, aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, tricuspid stenosis, tricuspid regurgitation and rheumatic heart disease which damaged the heart valve due to rheumatic fever.

Heart disease that distress the arteries and veins includes angina pectoris which is classified as stable, unstable and variant angina; heart attack; coronary artery disease; atherosclerosis which is the hardening of the arteries and silent ischemia which also causes stroke.

The types that involves the electrical system is also known as arrhythmias which leads the heart to beat too fast or tachycardia, too slow or bradycardia and irregularly.  These are sinus tachycardia, sinus bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, heart blocks (first degree AV Block, second degree AV Block, and complete AV block), bundle branch block, premature atrial contractions, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, multifocal atrial tachycardia, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, Long QT Syndrome, and brugada syndrome.

Heart disease which affects the heart lining also affects the endocardium or pericardium.  These are endocarditis and pericarditis. There are also other types that affect any part of the heart which is called as congenital heart disease.  This includes ventricular septal defect, atrial septal defect, patent ductus areteriosus, pulmonic stenosis, congenital oartic stenosis, coarctation of the aorta, tetralogy of fallot, tricuspid atresia, pulmonary atresia, patent foramen ovale, truncus arteriosus, Ebstein’s anomaly of the tricuspid valve, transposition of the great vessels, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, cardiac tumor, sudden cardiac death, and hypertensive heart disease.

Facts-About-Heart-Diseases      It is very important for us to be aware of the facts about heart disease even if we don’t have any.  The main cause of heart disease is the thickening of the coronary artery wall.  Once it was narrowed, it regulates the amount of blood to the heart and worst scenario it blocks the blood all the way.  We all know that blood is very necessary because it supplies oxygen to the heart.  More..
