Hormones play a large role in the human body. Different glands of the body secrete different hormones that are vital to the functioning of the human system. Hormones also indicate the changes in the body and every hormone has a specific functionality. A hormone is actually a chemical release that alters the metabolism. |
A hormone released by one cell can affect another cell for the desired results. All living beings including plants release hormones. The ovaries, pituitary glands, thyroid glands and the endocrine system release hormones. The main function of the hormones is to release signals for a particular function to be carried out. These functions are related to the body like sleeping, walking, and every physical or mental action that takes place.
The hormones mostly interact with the proteins which form the receptors. Certain hormones that are released by the pituitary gland or thyroid glands are known to promote certain behavior. This relationship pattern between hormones and behavior patterns can be observed in women especially. Women go through different stages in life like puberty, menopause and perimenopause. Hormones get altered excessively during these times. The hormones also impact the women psychologically. Behavior patterns like suspicion, anxiety, eagerness, hastiness and also impatience has been observed. Such personality traits have been observed in men also under various circumstances. This could be directly related to the changing hormones in the body. The hormones have the capability of affecting the neurons in the brain cells and causing certain behavior patterns. However, hormones are extremely important for the functioning of several systems including the immune system in the body.
