Hormone imbalance is the most common problem for women who are reaching their menopausal stage. Imbalances of hormone can lead to other health risks and dangers if not kept under check at the right time. There are some symptoms which can indicate hormonal imbalances. The most accurate way to tell is a blood test. |
The blood test will be able to determine the hormonal levels in women for post and pre menopause periods. A single blood sample can reveal the levels of three main female hormones and they are estrone, estradiol and estriol. Progesterone also plays a vital role in the sexual mechanism of a woman’s body.
Blood testing is mainly done to find the levels of the following hormones. Any increase or decrease in these hormones indicates a change in the composition of the body.
Estrogens like estrone, estradiol and estriol levels indicate the menopause period in women.
Progesterone levels vary according to the menstrual cycle and they also play a big role in the fertility.
Androgens affect the sexual performance in the woman. There are two different hormones in this group. One is testosterone, and the other is DHEA.
The other minor hormones are the sex hormones.
A hormone test is conducted to rule out some main condition like the polycystic ovarian disease, infertility and menopause. When a woman has any of these conditions the hormone levels will not be normal. In fact it is the hormonal imbalance that is causing the condition. The hormonal levels are also found in order to rule out breast cancer.
