What Causes Problems With Sympathetic Nervous System ?

The human body is extremely complex to understand. The central nervous system is even more complex to understand. The sympathetic nervous system is a part of the autonomic nervous system. It carries out several functionalities like reactions, anger, fear, emotions and sight, smell or motor skills.

The sympathetic nervous system functions are exactly opposite of the parasympathetic nervous system. They both, however, work together in tandem to enable the central nervous system performs its functions. The sympathetic nervous system causes several reactions in the body. Some of them are increased heart rate, indigestion, constipation, urinary complications and much more. If the sympathetic nervous system is affected then a person would such problems.

The sympathetic nervous system (SNS) easily gets affected by stress and depression. As a result the person starts facing more problems. Some of the factors that can affect the sympathetic nervous system are habits like smoking, alcohol, drugs like marijuana and prescription medicine abuse. The problem with the SNS can be sorted out by changing your lifestyle into a healthy one. There are no direct tests that can establish the fact that the SNS is being affected. However, based on the symptoms and findings one can tell if the problems are associated with SNS.

One of the main factors that affect the SNS directly is cigarette and alcohol. Sometimes, it can be diet also. If you eat an unhealthy diet that is full of fat and oil, the SNS could be affected. The SNS gets stimulated by protein; and by supplying it in excess, you are over stimulating it.
